Shona Ferrier

Registered Acupuncturist & Chinese Medicine Practitioner

Shona is a doctor of Chinese medicine; she trained at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading, UK, completing her four-year B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Acupuncture in 2016.

Shona discovered Chinese medicine when she was suffering from severe endometriosis in her 20’s. Western medicine was no longer able to help, working in London in a corporate lobbying job, Shona’s health and wellbeing was at a crisis point. A referral to a Chinese medicine clinic became life changing for Shona.

The Chinese medicine principle of balance and healing the whole body resonated with Shona and through a combination of acupuncture, herbs and dietary changes Shona, for the first time in 10 years, was able to manage her symptoms and started to heal.

The experience had such a dramatic impact on Shona’s life that she decided to re-train. Over the next 10 years, while having four beautiful children, Shona undertook training as a Chinese medicine practitioner, qualifying in 2016. Shona and her family relocated to Australia in 2018 and were very lucky to settle in the Dandenong Ranges. Shona works from her clinic, The Good Life, in Cockatoo.

Shona has extensive experience working with a variety of health conditions. As well as alleviating the pain and symptoms of her patients Shona also believes it is vital to support her patients emotionally as their bodies heal and makes the changes necessary to achieve long term health and wellbeing.

Shona undertook intensive training, studying in both the Five Elements and Traditional Chinese Medicine systems of healing. This allows her to use an integrated approach to her treatments, supporting patients on a physical, mental and emotional level.

Undertaking Continuing Professional Development is vital for Shona, enabling her to deepen and broaden the skills and knowledge her practice offers you. Shona continues to explore new methods to strengthen and broaden her treatments.
